Joe Meadows was born and raised in McGregor, Texas. Joe graduated from McGregor High School and attended the University of Texas where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Geology. Prior to law school Joe worked as a geophysicist with The Atlantic Richfield Company in the seismic and gravity areas of the exploration department. After graduating from South Texas School of Law in Houston, Texas, Joe was an attorney for The Permian Company, a division of Occidental Petroleum, Inc., which was a purchaser of domestic crude oil. Later, Joe was general counsel for Occidental Crude Oil Corporation, which was the foreign crude oil purchaser for Occidental Petroleum, Inc. The primary legal responsibilities were oil and gas, foreign contracts, claims, real estate and general corporate matters. On leaving Occidental, Joe was general counsel for Producer’s Crude Company in Abilene, Texas. Joe also owned and operated Builder’s Title Insurance and Abilene Title Insurance companies where he gained even more experience in the areas of real estate. Joe is married to the former Margaret Tyer and has two children and four grandchildren. Joe and Margaret are members of The First Baptist Church of Waco. Currently, Joe is a Justice of The Peace in Waco, Texas. |
